A farm to cup experience

Our Story
Established in 2017, Copper Leaf Coffee Roaster is dedicated to producing exceptional single-origin and blended coffee beans. My experience as a roaster came from my passion for creating the best cup of coffee. I began roasting at home in Echo Park, Los Angeles because I found that I rarely got the experience of perfectly balanced notes from my favorite region and variety of beans. I became obsessed with roasting to achieve my own tasting notes, and now I want to share my roasts with everyone who desires the same perfect cup of coffee that I enjoy.

The Copper Leaf plant symbolizes transformation, beauty, and the realization of inherent potential. Just as the Copper Leaf reveals its vibrant colors through careful growth and nurturing, so too does great coffee emerge from the meticulous process of cultivation and roasting. This philosophy guides us in our mission to build and strengthen relationships with coffee farmers and their families worldwide. By nurturing these connections, we bring high-end specialty coffee from their farms directly to your cup, showcasing the exceptional beauty and potential of every bean.

Jairo bought his first farm, Finca La Esmeralda, in 1987, where he planted his first Caturra lot. He later acquired five more farms: Villarazo, Mazatlan, Santa Mónica, Maracay, and Buenos Aires. During harvest, Jairo provides local jobs, boosting the community’s economy.
Guided by his sons' expertise in picking, sorting, and processing, Jairo produces exceptional coffees. For this microlot, cherries were picked based on strict ripeness criteria, pulped, dry-fermented for 35 hours, and dried on raised beds for two weeks to 10% moisture content.
